The DSR-45P is a new and highly versatile DVCAM digital videocassette recorder designed to to be an ideal system for both nonlinear editing and linear A/B roll editing as a source feeder.
It features an i.LINK interface which allows seamless integration into compatible DV-based editing suites. In addition, analogue component connectors allow the
unit to accept and transfer high-quality video and audio. For external control, the DSR-45P comes standard with RS-422A and RS-232C interfaces. Equipped
with a 2-inch built-in LCD, the DSR-45P displays information including; audio level, system status, and the working image as they are needed.

LCD monitor lets you check as you go
You can use the high resolution built-in LCD colour monitor to view the image as it records, or to check the playback picture on the location. It also makes setting menus and audio recording levels easier.

One machine, many ways of using it
If your need Is versatility, the DSR-45P is your solution. Use it as the editing player in a A/B roll editing or a cut-editing system. Or, use it with your conventional analogue system.

Compact and lightweight
The DSR-45P weighs just 4.6kg and is only a half-rack wide. Two units can be mounted side-by-side in a 19-inch equipment rack.

 

i.LINK interface
The integrated i.LINK interface allows you to transfer digital audio and video through a single-cable connection with virtually no loss in quality. This provides an easy and convenient way to make back-up tapes.

Signal conversion
Analogue input signals can be converted to digital and simultaneously output from the i.LINK connector. Also, it can convert i.LINK input signal to analogue signals.

Key features include:
DV format recording and playback
With your DSR-45P you can record and play back DV format tapes (SP mode only) as well as DVCAM format. In DV format the DSR-45P offers 270 minutes of recording with standard-size cassette.

Analogue video/audio interface
The DSR-45P provides a full range of analogue video inputs/outputs, including composite, S-Video and component, plus 4-channel separate XLR connectors for analogue audio output. This makes it easy to integrate the DSR-45P into an existing analogue-based system.

RS-422A & RS-232C interface
The RS-422A interface allows it to perform as a source feeder in professional A/B roll editing systems. Also a RS-232C interface allows basic VTR functions to be controlled from a PC.

i.LINK interface
Using the Integrated 4-pin i.LINK interface you can duplicate entire tapes and transfer audio, video and command signals to a PC.

 

Time code input/output
Time code input/output capability enables time code synchronisation with external equipment, which is ideal for dubbing purposes.

Time code write through i.LINK
The DSR-45P can copy time code from a non-tape source through i.LINK. This is useful when video is edited on a PC or other NLE system has new time code.

Colour bar generator and Tape counter
A colour bar generator can be activated from the set-up menu. In addition, there’s a digital tape counter on the front panel which is convenient for performing relative time code data editing, and for monitoring the operation of the unit.

Wireless remote commander supplied
The RMT-DS5 provides menu control for precise settings. Most of the VCR’s functions can be controlled from the commander, making it ideal for use during presentations.

FAQ

Does the DSR-45P have the insert/assemble editing capability via RS-422A? No, DSR-2000P, 1800P, 1500AP, 85P and 70AP have this function.
Does the DSR-45P have the synchronisation capability via RS-422A? No. but if you use Master Series VTRs such as DSR-1500AP as a recorder, you can do an editing with frame accuracy.
Is it possible to convert between Analogue and iLINK signals? Yes, you can convert from Analogue to i.LINIK and vice versa by using E-to-E mode.
Does the DSR-45P have a DC power supply? No. The DSR-70AP and DSR-50P has a DC power supply with 4-pin type connector.
Does the DSR-45P have an internal signal genel4tor? The unit has a colour bar signal generator, but does~not have an audio signal generator such as 1KHz reference signal.
Can the DSR-45P playback DVCPRO recorded tapes? No, only Master Series VTRs such as DSR-1500AP can playback DVCPRO tape.
