SONY DSR-25

The DSR-25 is a DVCAM Digital Videocassette Recorder especially designed for use in
DV-based non-linear editing suites. It is an ideal tool for uploading and downloading
video to and from i.LINK equipped non-linear editing systems.
With its 2-inch, built-in LCD, using the DSR-25 is easy because important information, such as the recorded image, audio
level, set-up menu, and system status are vividly displayed.
In addition, the DSR-25 features
easy one-touch duplication, the capability to preset user bits and time codes, a built-in
tape counter, and a wireless remote.

625/525 switchable
To accommodate the growing needs for international
program exchange, the DSR-25 is
built with the flexibility for switchable operation in 625/525 environments. This feature
is also ideal for multi-national operations that require dual compatibility.
You can record using either system as well. Simply slide a switch to select the incoming
source.
Signal conversion
Analogue input signals can be converted to digital
and simultaneously output from the i.LINK connector.
Also, it can convert i.LINK input signal to analogue signals.

DV format recording and playback
With your DSR-25 you can record and play back DV
format tapes (SP mode only) as well as DVCAM format.
In DV format the DSR-25 offers 270 minutes of recording with a standard-size cassette.
Colour bar generator and Tape counter
The DSR-25 has a colour bar generator that can be
activated from the set-up menu. In addition, the system comes with a digital tape counter
on the front panel, which is convenient for performing relative time code data editing,
and for monitoring the operation of the unit.
Wireless remote commander supplied
The DSR-25 comes with a wireless remote commander,
RMT-DS5, which provides menu control for precise settings. Most of the VTRs functions can
be controlled from the commander, making it ideal for use during presentations.

i.LINK interface Using the integrated 4-pin i.LINK interface you can duplicate entire tapes and transfer audio, video and command signals to a PC. Time code through i.LINK The DSR-25 can copy time code from a non-tape source through i.LINK. This is useful when video edited on a PC or other NLE system has new time code. iLINK interface The integrated i.LINK interface allows you to transfer digital audio and video through a single-cable connection with virtually no loss in quality. This provides an easy and convenient way to make back-up tapes. |

| Is an NTSC signal produced when playing back an NTSC recorded tape? | Yes, the DSR-25 can playback NTSC recorded tape with an NTSC signal output. There is no video conversion to PAL signal from NTSC. |
| How can I make an NTSC recording? | The DSR-25 can be switched between NTSC or PAL recording via a switch on the rear panel. |
| Is it possible to convert between Analogue and iLINK signals? | Yes, you can convert from Analogue to i.LINK, and vice versa by using E-to-E mode. |
