FORMATT FM-600 MATTE BOX
 The FM-600 has been designed for use with the growing range of digital video cameras and is compatible with most models including Sony’s PD100, PD150
VX-1000, VX-2000 and Canon’s XL1 & XM1.
The FM-600 is also suited to the larger Broadcast/Professional Cameras using Internal Focus Lenses.

Manufactured from tough aviation grade aluminium, our feature packed matte box has two filter stages - one fixed and one fully rotational 4” x 4”. Screw-in and clamp-on adapters are available for most standard and wide angle lenses.
Whether you are using a standard or wide-angle lens requiring screw-in or clamp-on adaptors, simply select the appropriate adaptor to allow attachment directly to the end of the lens barrel.

Rotating filter stage and combi-filter compartments
 Manufactured from tough aviation grade aluminium the feature packed FM-600 has one fixed filter compartment which accommodates 4 x 4 and 4 x 5.650 (VERTICAL ONLY) and one fully rotational 4 x 4 stage which independently rotates 360 degrees.
The unique filter compartment design also means compatibility with most filter manufacturers. The FM-600 will accept any filter thickness from 1.5mm to 4mm offering total flexibility and real value for money.

Adaptors
Screw in and clamp on adapters are available in a selection of the following sizes:
Screw-in: 52mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, 75mm, 77mm, 82mm, 86mm.
Clamp-on: 75mm, 80mm, 85mm, 86mm, 93mm.

One Screw in adaptor ring of your choice is included with the FM-500 & addition adaptor rings available as a spare or for use with other cameras.

No Filters are included with the Matte Box.

 Formatte Filters
The secret to Formatt’s consistency in filter design lie in our unique “Absorbing Cell technology” (A.C.T).
This unique process allows our colour correct dyes to be applied to our optically pure wafer thin absorbing cell and offers a controllability which ensures the smoothest of grad lines and consistent colour across the whole of the filter surface.
This process is revolutionary compared with conventional filter dying techniques by eliminating the need to directly coat the glass surface itself. Glass, due to its very nature, is non-porous and can often result in uneven grad lines or smeared inconsistent colours.
The repeatable performance gained through A.C.T ensures that at any time you have to swap like for like filters mid shoot you can do so with confidence with no discernible differences in colour or density.

Filter protection - a simple but effective idea
If something is beautiful but delicate, costing hundreds of pounds it stands to reason that its worth protecting.
Precision crafted optical glass filters, surely are no different.
Every Formatt glass filter is finished with a unique edge frame offering maximum protection against edge chipping, surface scratches and enables easy handling and cleaning.
With the Filter description on top of the frame it also makes identification of the filter much easier especially when filters are stored in cases on location.

Graduating Filters

GRADUATED FILTERS

Formatt produce a stunning collection of graduated filters with over 25 carefully selected colours.
There are three blends of Formatt graduated filters available:
Soft Edge - Hard Edge - Razor Edge  Densities: 1, 2, 3
 Colours available: Cool Blue, Blue, Coral, Cyan, Green, Golden Sepia, Magenta, Pink, Red, Yellow, Chocolate, Plum, Cranberry, Grape, Skyfire, Sunset, Straw, Tangerine, Tobac, Tropic Blue, Whiskey, Twilight, Sepia, Tuscan Pink, Antique Suede.
Neutral Density NEUTRAL DENSITY

ND filters are by definition colourless and uniformly reduce light of all wavelengths with no effect on the colour rendition.
Used In numerous applications, Formatt ND filters help extend the exposure parameters and can be used in both colour and black & white videography.
Densities: 0.3, 0.6, 0.9,1.2
Star Effect STAR EFFECT FILTERS

Star effects are created from direct highlights which are captured on engraved lines cut into the filter.
Star Filters are most often described by the
amount of points they possess. For example, a 4 point star would give a symmetrical north-south, east-west.
Formatt Star Effects Filters are available as 2, 4,6 & 6 point.
 The demonstration image shows an 6 point star effects filter in combination with a Day For Night filter.
Supermist SUPERMIST FILTERS

Supermist provides 8 levels of softening but unlike conventional diffusing filters, there is little loss of detail.
Supermist filter range: Supermist Black, Supermist Clear, Warm Supermist Black, Warm Supermist Clear
Densities: 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
 Clear Supermist amplifies highlights but slightly reduces contrast. Black Supermist reduces highlights without affecting contrast.
